ELLA ORDONA is one of the liveliest people I've ever met. A Capricorn with great taste in fashion and food, Ella is nothing short of extraordinary.
I'd been to Dakota Art Gallery a few times, but I'd never been so moved. The show was called BIYAK.
The Facebook event describes it as:

In this exhibition, artists Jasmine Escalante and Ella Ordona seek to explore the ongoing process of reconciling the often contradictory aspects of growing up caught in between two cultures. Through the scope of various mixed media, video and installation works, they highlight their analogous experiences, and call into question the pervasive nature of Western ideals and the disruptive desire to belong.
I don't really know how I started shooting artists in front of the work they create, but I think this will lead to an interesting series.
